    database:
    field:dfile type:text default: null:yes extra: key:

    Connection String:
    strConnect = "DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};"_
    & "SERVER=localhost;" & " DATABASE=mp3;"_
    & "UID=hellur;PWD=fglin; OPTION=16384"
    Set dbcon = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    Set rs=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.recordset")
    dbcon.open strConnect

    The error message you received is a broad error message - is there any more information within the event viewer when this happens or other error messages that occur at the same time. Also, be explicit in your select statement - for example, select field1, field2, field3 ... from table where ... Then reference the fields as rs(0) = ..., rs(1) = ... I would also try this with varchar and not text.
