Unanswered: Does Oracle8i defaultly use the parallel benefit on the machine with 2 CPUs?

    Hi,
I have an application on Oracle8i(+Dell PE4600 2CPUs) and I have not set parallel option yet.In a TKPROF report,I found that CPU time of a query is bigger than its eplased time :
call count cpu elapsed disk query current rows
    ------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
    Parse 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
    Execute 1 0.00 0.00 0 0 0 0
    Fetch 1 0.12 0.11 1808 1894 0 1
    ------- ------ -------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------
    total 3 0.12 0.11 1808 1894 0 1

I think it caused by the truncation error, but is there possible caused by overlap running of 2 CPU? What do you think?
