    Unanswered: Sybase Client on AIX

    Hello,

We are experiencing some problems with the Sybase ASE 12.0 install on our AIX 4.3.3 machine.
He have CICS running on this machine, and need to have the XA interface to be able to use ASE with CICS.
We are not able to install the XA interface and think that this has something to do with the fact that CICS is 32-bits, and ASE is 64-bits. Someone from IBM suggests that this is a problem if the Sybase Client is 64-bits.
The company who installed the Sybase now told us that there is no 64-bits client, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Does anybody know if this is possible?

    Regards,

    Micha

    Hiya Micha,

The company that installed Sybase at your site is correct!!! All Sybase clients are 32-bit, only the server binaries are 64-bit.

There is documentation on XA interface here
    http://manuals.sybase.com/onlinebook...1250e/xainterf

What errors do you get in particular?

    Cheers
    Willy

It seems that the config-file somehow got corrupted.
After starting with a new config-file, it seems that the XA interface might be working.
I'll let you know if it works...

    Thanks anyway,

    Micha
