Hi all-

Am trying to retrieve BLOB from a mainframe table using Java (JDBC2.0, OS/390 DB2 v6). Data inserted fine, but now getting a bind exception when trying to get the BLOB out of the result set from the Select. Do I need to use a different SQL syntax, or is JDBC wacking the SQL??? Code snippet, and stack trace follow.

CODE SNIPPET:
String select_sql = "Select * from VCSTST76.XGRULE";
Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(select_sql);
rs.next();
Blob blobObj = rs.getBlob("BLOCK_OBJ"); <<exception here...

STACK TRACE (abbrev):
COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2] SQL0525N The SQL statement cannot be executed because it was in error at bind time for section = "DB2G.NULLID.SQLL7D03" package = "00000164" consistency token = X"". SQLSTATE=51015

This result set appears to be totally hosed because I can't get refer to any other columns in the result set either (JDBC says "invalid column name"). Are there any successful examples of this kind of access out there???? Any help is appreciated.
