    Unanswered: Update one field with text from multiple combo boxes

    Would like to update a text box (MoveName) with the text from one other text box and three combo boxes. All combo boxes lookup recordID and text value from other tables with recordID as the bound column.
    Can I update the MoveName field with the text value of the three combo boxes rather than the numeric Bound value? (Hope I asked that right)

    ---
    Desired result:
    MoveName: ABC1-LosAngeles-SanFrancisco

    Customer = ABC (Lookup from customer table - CustomerID, CustName - CustomerID is Bound)
    Wave = 1 (Text Box)
    DC From = LosAngeles (Lookup from DistributionCtr Table - ID, DC - ID is Bound)
    DC To = SanFrancisco (Lookup from DistributionCtr Table - ID, DC - ID is Bound)

    On exit event for objects Customer, Wave, From and To =
    Me.MoveName = [CustomerID] & [Wave] & "-" & [DCFrom] & "-" & [DCTo]

    Actual results look something like
    MoveName: 261-13-19 (26=Cust ID, 1=Wave, 13=DC From, 19=DC To)

    Using Access 2000...

    Thank you.

    Re: Update one field with text from multiple combo boxes

    Take a look at the Column property of a combobox control.

    If a combobox had 3 columns:

    - Me.cboYourCombobox returns the value of the bound column

    - Me.cboYourCombobox.Column(0) returns the value of the first column

    - Me.cboYourCombobox.Column(1) returns the value of the second column

    - Me.cboYourCombobox.Column(2) returns the value of the third column

    So you could grab the appropriate column values from you comboboxes and concatenate a string to plug into your text box.
