    Unanswered: handling transactions from asp

    hello all,
    our front end is ASP
    Backend oracle 8.1.7.

When our application (ASP file) inserts a record into the database, and immediately tries to retrieve the record the record is not coming, as it was not yet commited.
What is the best way to handle this problem.. ?
also please tell me how to set the Autocommit to ON in the init.ora file..
    thanks and Regards

Can you not issue a COMMIT to the database after the insert?

Alternatively, you can set to commit automatically in the ODBC setup.

You would not want to set "autocommit ON" in the init.ora file even if it were possible (it is not, but there is a SQL Plus setting of that name you may be thinking of). That would make it impossible to rollback ANY statement EVER!
