Changing for Three tier to two teir using Oracle Stored Procedure

Changing for Three tier to two teir using Oracle Stored Procedure
    Hi,
Currently our systrem is built on three tier using VB as the Client, DCE as the Middleware & Oracle with Pro*c as the backend.

We are planning to remove the DCE component and use Oracle Stored procedure to call the online functions.

Pro*C online functions need to be rewritten in Oracle Stored Procedure.

We don't want to use Corba/SOAP/DCOM..

Is this the best way to move away from DCE?.

    Pls help.

    Thanks

I don't know about DCE, but putting all your database related processing and business logic onto the server is definitely the right idea, regardless of front-end. Let the client software do what it does best, i.e. handle the user interface, and let the server do the rest.
All your stored procedures will be in packages, of course!
