    Unanswered: Record Locking

Does anyone know a way in Access 2k of letting a user know who has a record open?

Multiple users are able to view the records but can't change the current record if someone else has it open.

Ideally, if a form is opened that the record is locked on a message box would appear letting the user know who has it open?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Xander,

Research the *.ldb file. It contains all the locking information. I don't know how it is formatted, but you should be able to decipher is without too much difficulty.

    Good Luck,

Check out the MS article here if you want a better understanding of Jet Engine locking. The LDBView utility included in the zipe file works with Jet 4.0

This article might provide some light too (havnt read this one yet, but been meaning too)
