    Unanswered: openrecordset wont work, WHY?

    this code throws up type mismatch

    Sub test()
    Dim db As Database, rs As Recordset
    Set db = CurrentDb
    Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("dates")
    End Sub

    the table is an Access table made in access

    hi i am not any good at this, but i thought i would have a go. but when i downloaded, i couldnt open it, is it in access97, and if not, can you make it?

    okay it seems to be fixed seems i had to declare a DAO.Database and DAO.Recordset

    Thats good, well done mate. I was sick on friday, so i didnt get in the office. I only got in today, so i hadnt had the chance to open the db yet, but its good to hear u have solved it.
