Unanswered: DB queries from multiple databases?
I've been doing several intranet applications for my company and I've noticed that when I create a database for each app I end up needing the same tables over and over again (departments, sub department, employee listing, etc).
What I want is to be able to create 1 database with tables for employees, jobs, depts, sub depts to query from and join with info specific to the current app I'm working with. Is it possible to do DB queries to more than 1 database at a time? I wouldn't normally think so since you only have 1 DB connection, but if anyone has advice on this situation please let me know.
Also, I would prefer not to just combine all the intranet apps into 1 huge database with massive amounts of tables, but if you guys tell me that's the way to go, then that might be the way to go.
Any input would be appreciated,
