Unanswered: Problem in using in - built SQL functions

    Hi,

When I try to execute db2 values(UPPER('sample')) , It is failing with exception "SQL0440N No function by the name "UPPER" having compatible arguments was found in the function path. SQLSTATE=42884" . It is too funny that I have used this function an hour back , It worked fine. After that I have not changed any parameters. I could not use only few in - built functions like UPPER, UCASE, LTRIM, REPLACE, etc.

I have checked my function path, restared DB2 instance.

What will be the cause for this problem?

Please suggest solutions which I have not tried yet.

    Thanks,

    Thangam

    Hi,

Have you changed the system time after the database was created or restored.

If yes then just restore the system time to default or make it after the database was created and it should work.

    Cheers,
    Prashant

    Hi,

I searched this forum for a similar DB2 problem and found this archive.
I want to thank you for providing this solution as it solved my problem too.
In case you know any more details on this problem or if this problem has been solved in a DB2 fixpak now, I would appreciate if you let me know.

    Thanks,

    -Preeti
