Exclamation Unanswered: Global variables and concurrent users

I have a database used by many users at the same time. When a user's action stores a value to a global variable I would like that variable to change ONLY for the current user.

I was thinking I could declare the global / public variable using the [CurrentUser] term in the name to solve this problem but I'm not sure if that would work or not. Suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks.

If I'm correct (never tested it but I'm pretty sure I am), global variables in VBA are only Global to the machine you are running them on. Since variables are actually stored in your computers memory then other users would have their own global variables.

The way to share "variables" between users would be to store the value in a table (the back end if your db is split).

I don't have a way to test that right now but I'm pretty sure its correct.

If what you are saying is correct my problem is completely solved. It makes a lot of sense and I think you must be right now that I think about it. Thanks a lot.
