    Arrow Unanswered: Num_db_backups

    Version: DB2 UDB 7.2
    O/S: Linux 7.x

    Hi Guys,
Recently I came across this parameter while studying the admin guide, and this parameter keeps track of backups taken for a number specified for this parameter (default 12). If you have more images those are marked as expried and only the lastest one are kept in recovery history file. My question; can you still perform backup from the images which are marked as expired?

    Thanks

    Paul

The offline full backups can be used ..

Though not 100% sure, I have doubts over Tablespace backups and online backups

    Cheers

Actually thats what we all have - online backups. Guess, I have to just emulate the whole situation in our test environment and go from there.
