    Unanswered: fillfactor recommendations

The main tables in our db -- ranging in sizes from 30K to 50 million recs -- could grow by a factor of 3 this year. I have to create some new indexes on these tables and I'm wondering what I should use for a fillfactor. Any recommendations?

    Hiya Frankp,

A small fillfactor(except 0) value causes index to take more storage space.

A fillfactor of 100 is best suited for read only tables.

The default of 0, is good for most conditions.

    Cheers

So are you saying that you think a fillfactor of 0 would fine for the growth I'm expecting?

Where are the inserts happening? Just at the end or all the way through the table?
