Unanswered: DB2 in a HACMP environment
On AIX 5.1, there is a directory created in /var/db2/v71 with 2 files located there,
-rw-rw-r-- 1 db2as system 44 Nov 15 09:44 default.env
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 22 Jan 13 10:47 profiles.reg
Do these files have to put on a NFS file system (shark disk) so that when failover occurs this directory/files exist and are known to the system?
Also what are these files in this directory for? ( I haven't got a clue)
Thanks in advance
Re: DB2 in a HACMP environment
You need not to put them to NFS.
You just put need to put this two file to /var/db2/v71 in the other node is ok.
you can more the files, these files contains the instance name in the server!!!
Hope this answer is helpful
For your info, these files contain the db2 global registry information. You can use the "db2set -all" to show the registry information.
