    Re: Problem with DB2 Replication

Recently I looked into the same option but could not make it work. Atleast not on DB2 UDB 7.2 running on AIX. Replication I assume only works with base tables.

    Re: Problem with DB2 Replication

Thanks Dollar for point out ...

Replication works only on base tables as the Capture Program reads the active/archive logs ....

As for the 18 char limit, I'm not aware of any 'decent' workaround ....

Bonus Tip : DB2 V8 supports column names upto 30 chars (What's new in DB2 Replication Guide)

    Cheers

    Re: Problem with DB2 Replication

I doubted what I said and had a look into the Replication Guide ...

It says 'A replication source is a user table or view from which you want data copied.'

I have never had an opportunity to use views in Replication ...

    Anyone has more ideas ?

    Thanks

I believe Version 8.1 allows replication of tables with names > 18
    characters.
