    Unanswered: Post-Migration Table Compare

I'm migrating from Oracle Server Enterprise Edition 8.0.4 to 8.1.7 and am doing a validation of the data by comparing record counts, spot checking the data, and performing application testing. Does anyone have a more robust method of comparing the source and target tables to ensure that the data is good?
    Thanks,

You could do a quick and dirty checksum on some of your tables. For example a sum() of a number field, a sum(length()) of a char field, etc.

Please take a look at our ETL tool (www.etlsolutions.com) as this allows data checking and validating by executing a simple transform between your databases. The approach is to view the earlier data as a source and the later data as a target and handle the checking in the transform.
This is all good Java technology.
