    Unanswered: Can I do partial import with a FULL database export dump file?

    Hi all,

    Is there any way to do a partial import from a full database export's dump file?

    Yes you can do partial import from a full database export. By partial I mean you can select the table which you want to import out of full tmp. If the no of tables you wish to import are few then at imp command line interface you can write tables=(tablesname1,tablename,2.......). For help you can type IMP HELP=y to see the exact syntax.

    Yes, you can.

    For import schema (user) objects - fromuser= , touser=
    For certain tables - tables=user.table1, user.table2, etc..

    The good think about full db export is that you have tablespaces, users, roles, public synonyms and privileges in case you need them.
