Unanswered: SQL connection problems through ASP

This is the connection string used to connect through ASP to the remote SQL database
    > Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    > DSNtemp="DRIVER={SQL
    > Server};SERVER=ServerName;UID=USER;PWD=password;DA TABASE=databasename"
    > DSNtemp
    > %>

this seems to be correct....the problem is that I keep getting one of two errors

1.)Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

or invalid connection string with the same server error

If anyone has any would be greatly appreciated

Re: SQL connection problems through ASP

I don't know, if this helps you, but the easiest way to create correct Connection Strings is:

1.) Make a new file in the explorer. Give it a Name like "test.udl"

2.) Open the file. Now you can configure your settings. Test it with the Button and save it and close it.

3.) Rename the file to "test.txt". Open it. There is you connection string :-)

4.) Try this string in your Page, I hope it works
