I have db in Access 2000.In this db I have a table named "prod_tree" that includes data of some products of my company.The table has parent _ child logic,so each parent may have 0 or more child(s) and itself may be child of 0 or more parents!!!.
I need a procedure to control any probable loop(s) in this table, so that none of childe(s) and/or child(s) of child(s) of a parent can not appear as its parents.
The primary key of table are two columns named as " parent_code" and "component_code".I hope I have been explained my problem as clear as possible.
Thank you for your early reply . But the matter happens only in one table , and relationship rules cannot support that,except there will be an interrelationship between a table with itself. I didnot know such capability in Access,but if there was it can only solve a part of problem,and agian we need some module(s) to loop control.

You just need to set up your relationships between the tables correctly.
table1 -> table2 = 1 to many
table2 -> table3 = 1 to many
