Unanswered: invalid column name 'Date' error message

I created a text box and set the control source property =Date() to display today's date on a report. An error message appeared "invalid column name 'Date'. Why am I getting this message?

    Thanks!!

Did you try =Date without the ()?

It still gave me the same error message. I created another report and place/call the date function in the property of a text box and it works. Something weird is going on.

Yes, it does work with Now(). Why is that?
