    Unanswered: Access 97 Import Wizard

    Hi,
    Dim cbrMenu As CommandBar
    Dim cbcImport As CommandBarControl
    Set cbcImport = CommandBars("mnuGenericImportFile").Controls("impo rt...")

    If cbcImport Is Nothing Then
    MsgBox "uckfay"
    Else
    With cbcImport
    If .Visible Then
    .Execute
    End If
    End With
    End If

I'm using the above code to open the file import wizard. Is there a way to pass defaults to it like Look in, File Name, or Files of Type. I'm trying to simplify a fixed length file import for the user where the input file can be of different formats.
    Thanks,

A bit old fashioned and not very elegant, but SendKeys sometimes helps you out for passing values and strings to dialogs.

Thanks, That's an idea. Didn't even consider.
