    Unanswered: DB2 on AIX vs DB2 on OS/390

    Hi folks

    Iam a DB2 DBA on AIX. I wonder how different is to administer DB2 on OS/390.
    I invite all the suggetions

    The concepts are bit different. I have been asked to do the same at my job and found it not pretty!!!! The main differences are because of their architecture and underlying file system management. I found that even little things are taking too long compared to do the same thing on AIX, BUT then again it's only my opinion

    Hi,
    Mainframe environment is 'a little' different in comparision to other systems. In my opinion -if you want switch to - you should take some courses i.e. system fundamentals, JCL, REXX... AND, of course, administration DB2 for os/390. It is very helpful for beginners in mainframe world.
