    Unanswered: DB2 Backup

I have to do backup in all databases. I don't use tsm, ominback, legato, and so on. I'm going to do backup with "db2 backup command". Can I do online backup or I have to do it offline? There is a option in the command "online", does anybody use it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Re: DB2 Backup

In order to use the online backup option you have to set logretain parameter of database configuration file to ON e.g. :

db2 update db cfg for test using logretain ON

immediately after this you will have to take one offline backup (otherwise you would not be able to connect to the database). Once offline backup taken, you will be able to connect to the database normally and also can do online backup from there on (you will see that online backup radio button is enabled)
