Unanswered: Simulating dynamic SQL in SQL Server 2000
I am basically research the best way to generate dynamic sql's in procedures in SServer 2000. I have SQL (Oracle) and Transact SQL (ASE 11.5 to 12.5) experience and generally use the execute immediate command in both environments (SQL 11.5 and 11.9 require more trickery) by assigning values to input variables and then concatenating this variables into a string (assigned to another variable name/cursor) and then executing it. I know SQL Server and ASE are practically the same but I'd like to know if there are any particular holes to look out for etc.
I basically want to generate dynamic sql's and assign them to cursors in procedures? thanks in advance for all the help guys.
