Red face Unanswered: Microsoft SQL Server DB to MySQL DB

Does anyone no how to (step-by-step) export a database from Microsoft SQL Server to MySQL?

I have played around with using the DTS, but get numerous errors no matter what I try. :-(

    Hi

I would imagine here that the typical issue here would be the incompatibility with datatypes. Which ODBC driver are you using to connect to MySQL. Depending on the driver, you should be able to trace the steps involved. Also, look at the datatypes been used. As you can imagine, SQLServer uses datatypes such as uniqueidentfifier for instance which I can't imagine MySQL will have. The underlying ODBC driver in some cases should translate this datatype.

I either get 'status 9: Permission denied' errors, or syntax errors, or 'Your provider does not support all the interfaces/methods required by DTS.' errors. I can't seem to find a way to not get any of them.
