Unanswered: Foreign keys and federated db

    Hi,

I have a problem with federated database. I have a federeated system on Windows 2000 (DB2 EE 7.2 FIXPACK 8). Remote system is another Windows 2000 (DB2 EE 7.2 FIXPACK 8). I created nickname to remote system. And select * from nick_name works fine.

Is it posible to create foreign key to the table in federated system witch will point to remote table on remote system? I need it because of referencial integrity.

    Thanks,
    Grofaty

AFAIK it is not possible to define referential integrity
between tables stored in different databases.

You might think about a trigger/stored-procedure mechanism
    that simulates referential integrity.
