    Unanswered: Password Encryption in Sybase

    Hi,

one of our security requirements is that passwords must be encrypted during transmission.

How can I enforce that my password is transferred encrypted from my client to the Sybase server when establishing the connection?

I want to connect to a Sybase DB from my Java application (JDBC), but cannot find any "password encryption" parameter in the connection properties.

I also presume that I have to set some parameters at bothDB client and server site.

When defining a Sybase OBDC Driver, I can set in the "connection" tab the field "encrypted password". How does this fit into the picture?

    Many thanks
    Ursula.

Sybase 12.5 and above does SSL, but how that works with JDBC I don't know.
