    Unanswered: ADO recordset not bookmarkable

In a VB6 application I'm using an ADO recordset connecting to a SQL Server 2000 database with MDAC 2.7 (also tried MDAC 2.1). When I assign this recordset as the datasource to a DataGrid and run the program, I get the error message "Recordset not bookmarkable".

I played around with the recordset's CursorLocation, CursorType and LockType, but the error message persists.

I DON'T want to use an ADO Data Control, because it doesn't expose a connection object as far as I can see. I know I can obtain its connection string, but I want to use its connection object for executing commands for the same connection.

Is there a way to use a recordset with the DataGrid under these circumstances?

In the meantime I found that a reference must be made to "Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects Recordset 2.7 Library".
