    Unanswered: oracle 8i and apache server!

    hi all..

    i am abs new with oracle and infact this is my frst day im working with it!
    i want to run an apache server with my oracle databse. Im using oracle dbase 8i and win 2k..
    please tell me default setup procedures and settings immediately if anyone can help. Also this is not my line of expertise so consider me a lay man...

    Simply install 8i or 9i enterprise edition, you'll have the RDBMS software and Apache is included by default.

    Once you installed HTTP Server from the CD-ROM, go to ORACLE_HOME\Apache\Apache\conf directory. Open the file "httpd.conf" with notepad.exe and look at (edit) these variables:

    DocumentRoot - your Apache root directory
    Listen - on which port Apache listens
    Port - on which port Apache was started

    If you are having problems with some of the variables see: http://www.apache.org . They have preety good on-line manuals.
