    Hi

    Is a script file reading the oratab file. The oratab file is located /etc/oratab (can be different place on your platform).

    Simply edit your oratab file.

    Hope this helps.

    Actually I am installing oracle 8i (version 8.1.7) on solaris 8 intel version.

    My oratab file is located in the following directory:

    /var/opt/oracle.

    The entry in the oratab is as follows

    orcl:/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7:N

    So this File has the correct ORACLE_HOME parameter.

    But when I run . oraenv the prompt is as follows

    ORACLE_SID=[orcl]?
    ORACLE_HOME=[/export/home/oracle]?

    is there any other file I have to edit? Thanks
