    Hi,

The difference between the client and the Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition, is that the client only contains the administration tools and the development tools, ie SQL*Plus, Pro*C++ and the JDBC and ODBC drivers. This is the package you need to download if you want to administer/talk to an Oracle database running on another machine.

The Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition download is the actual database server software itself and is what you will need if you wish to create and use databases.

    Hope this helps.

    Chris
