    Hi,
Oracle provides a set of predified users.
As person trying to use sqlplus as a learner you could use

    username: scott
    password : tiger

if u want to work as a dba, u could use

    username: system
    password : manager

    Hope it Helps

for the database instance you want to connect to you a listener running.

look for lsnrctl stat if it is running
    otherwise lnrctl start
the instance which are available should be configured in a file called listener.ora in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

the connect string looks like sqlplus <user>/<pwd>@<SID>

or usue <user>@<SID> and you will be prompted to enter <pwd>

the available SIDs can be retrieved from tnsnames.ora which can be found in the network/admin subdirectory as well

    LSNRCTL> start
    Starting tnslsnr: please wait...

Failed to start service, error 1058.
    TNS-12536: TNSperation would block
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
    LSNRCTL>

maybe it is because during the installation of the database error occurs
    >>alert: out of memory
after that i tryed to do it again but it just disappears(whole installation)

do i have to reinstall it?
