Re: Why can not I backup my database?

Hope you have checked the disk space ...

mmm .. I think you will get this error even if your backup file size exceeds the OS specified limit ....

Also have a look at db2diag.log for further information on the cause ...

    DB2 6.1 on AIX 5.2

    Running into this issue too.

There is plenty of space on the file system, but still run into the
"SQL2059W" error stating the device is full.

Any compatability issues with DB2 6.1 and AIX 5.2?

    Thanks,

    Re: DB2 6.1 on AIX 5.2

Check the ulimit for the user ...

Not sure whether you will have to enable large file in AIX 5.2 or available by default ... Check this one also ... Creating a jfs2 filesystem will automatically enable you to create files greater than 2GB

create serveral subdirs (e.g. 1 2 3 4 etc.) under "/backupdata", make them writeable for your instanceowner and split your backup.

    backup db baan to /backupdata/1,/backupdata/2,/backupdata/3.....

(if your db is 10 GB you need at least 5 subdirs).

Fixed the problem. The db2 administrator account along with the
instance required unlimited. Afterwards, reset both instances.

    Thanks for the help

Hello I had the same problem but in HP-UNIX, I found that the file system was with nolargefiles.

These you can to see in fstab

    more /etc/fstab

    You should change this parameter

I hope this help you in AIX

    regards
    Danny
