Unhappy Unanswered: simple problem but can't solve

I'm new to DTS and bear with me please. I want to test the transformation when copy from table A to Table B. Table A has two column a & b in char and decimal respectively. In the transformation, I try to add 100 to column b using the code below, but I received a type mismatch problem. Table A and Table B have the same format!

    DTSDestination("b").value = DTSSource("b").value + 100

    I just don't know why it doesn't work !!

Try adding 100.00 instead of 100

I think that your type mismatch could be that you are attempting to add the integer value of 100 to a decimal value stored in "b".

    Hi rfarries
Thanks for your help, and I tried your suggestion but it does not help. If I change the field to real, it seems to be okay. The problem is I want to import a table from DB2 via ODBC and some of the fields are decimal. If I can only make it work by changing those fields to real, it is a lot of manual work to change the type.
