Unanswered: Creating DB2 User from Application

    Hello

Can you please help me to find a way to create a DB2 User in a remote server from the Application.

Assuming that the current OS user has rights to create users in the remote server.

    Appreciate your early response.

    thanks

Creating users is an OS issue, not a DB2 issue. DB2 only grants/revokes rights on users and groups.

In order to create a user that uses DB2, first that user must be a user on the server where DB2 is running. However those users are created is depended upon the OS of the server, using the OS's tools to create them. Once they are created, then you can use DB2 to Grant/Revoke privaleges.

DB2 uses the Operating System's user/group accounts for authentication and authorization ...

If you can elaborate on what you wish to achieve by having the users created from within an application, people might be able to help out ...

    Cheers
