    Unanswered: db2setup unexpected syntax error.

    howdy folks sorry to bother you all,
    I'm attempting to install db2 7.1 on solaris 8. Using ./db2setup
    I get an error;
    ./db2inst: syntax error at line 1: ')' unexpected

    I'm at a loss to explain the error myself and was wondering if anyone here would be able to shed some light on it.
    thank you.

    Are you in Korn Shell ...

    I think db2setup runs only in Korn ...

    Just incase anyone is interested the reason the db2install was giving an error was because db2 v7.* for solaris dosen't support Intel, It only supports UltraSPARC processors.
    Thanks for your support.
