Unanswered: No syscat.tables in ver 6?

I'm trying to list all the tables so I tried:

    select * from syscat.tables

and get 'SYSCAT.TABLES" is an undefined name."

It's DB2 ver 6, so maybe this doesn't exist in this far back.

Any ideas on how to get a table listing in v6?
    Thanks

On which platform are you on ?

OS/390 did not have these views ... But V6 did have SYSCAT views ...

    Cheers

    Elomon,

in DB2 OS/390 & zOS, all catalog tables have the owner SYSIBM. So you can query SYSIBM.SYSTABLES to get what you want.

    I tried:
    Select * from SYSIBM.SYSTABLES
and got one row back. I'm looking through the docs that came with connect but don't see much about systables. Any ideas on how to use this one row?
    Thanks!

How are you trying to read the table? SPUFI, QMF, ???
SYSIBM.SYSTABLES has for each Table, View ans Alias a row, so you if have a new installed DB2, you would have all the catalog tables there (and there's a lot of them!).
To learn about the catalog, give a loot at the SQL Reference. You can also view the catalog on-line at http://www.cai.com/products/posters/v7_poster.htm
