    Unanswered: MySQL vs MS SQL Server

    just curious to know, is there any different between these two beside the platform they are supported?

    Angry ya- haah!!

    you should know that sql server besides being platform dependent uses up a great deal of memory. they don't comply with most of the sql standards either.
    dump your dumb ms box and get a real computer (LINUX).

    Yes. MS SQL Server (and most other mainstream DBMSs) support views, stored procedures, and user-defined functions (without having to code in C).

    They also cost an arm and a leg!

    Given the features that it offers and compared to other RDBMS' such as Oracle, SQL Server is cheap.
