Unanswered: bad performance for the first request

    Hi all,
The result of my first request to PostgreSQL is very long, then the other requests seem faster. Is there a configurable system of cache with Postgres?
Can you help me with this problem ?

    Thanks

Well without knowing more about your database and queries (if the data is normalized, how everything is indexed) I can only guess at what could be the problem. The best places for you to look on tweaking performance of PostGres would be

    http://techdocs.postgresql.org/redir...hw_performance
    (hardware/OS wise)
    http://techdocs.postgresql.org/techd...qldbtuning.php (software/SQL wise)

    Hope this helps,
