I'm writing a data conversion / loader routine and need to temporarily make all my destination columns nullable (since I don't want my users having to enter some redundant information). After setting all columns to null, I'll do an insert into the table, run a script to fill the columns that were not nullable and then I'd like to then reset the columns to their original state. I'm hoping that I don't have to do an iterative alter table / alter column set to remove them all. I tried setting the offset value in syscolumns to -1. I still receive an error message that the column is not nullable when I do my insert.

Anyone ever tried this before?
