Unanswered: Oracle 9i on Linux RH 8.0

Hi somebody know somthing about problems to install Oracle 9i on Linux Red Hat 8.0, because when I want to uncompress the files, like this:

    $gunzip lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz

that tell me that is not a gzip file.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards.

Lightbulb Gzip files that are already uncompressed

    OK this sometimes happens!

The file may have been uncompressed as you downloaded it.

I presume u r on a unix machine so you could check
    by typing

    file <filename>[return]

this will show you the filetype

Anyway just rename the file without the .gz extension and
    try the reverse cpio

    mv lnx_920_disk1.cpio.gz lnx_920_disk1.cpio[return]

    cpio -idmv < lnx_920_disk1.cpio[return]
