Unanswered: image import problems with interMedia
when i try to import an image from the file system on the database server, i have the following PL/SQL code:
create or replace directory PICDIR as 'd:\pic';
create table t( id NUMBER NOT NULL, pic ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE NOT NULL);
ctx := NULL;
insert into t values( 1, ordsys.ordimage.init());
select pic into img
where id = 1 for update;
-- the following statement have problem!!!!!
img.import( ctx );
set pic = img;
where id = 1;
whenever i try these codes, there would be always an exception.
i am sure the directory is right.
i suppose that maybe it's the problem of configuration of Oracle DB, my version is 126.96.36.199.1;
Why don;t you post your error messages, how can we debug??
Please post your error messages.
the errors are:
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-29400: DATA PLUG-IN ERROR IMG-00002:
ORA-06512: "ORDSYS.ORDIMG_PKG", line 590
ORA-06512: "ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE", line 65
ORA-06512: "ORDSYS.ORDIMG_PKG", line 677
ORA-06512: "ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE", line 213
ORA-06512: line 16
One thing to check -- did you grant read access to the directory for the user executing your procedure?
GRANT READ ON DIRECTORY PICDIR TO this_user;
Hope this helps.
I have the same problem but on the opossite derection. I want to export an image or a video. No the grant READ (or WRITE in my situation) did not solve the problem
