Unanswered: need syntax help using dmax with a wildcard

    Greetings Everyone,

I am very green access user for a small company. Can someone tell me the correct syntax for dmax which includes a wildcard in the criteria. I am using this function in a text box control source which is located in a form.

    For example,

    =DMax("[Freight]", "Orders", "[ShipRegion] = 'CA'")

    Instead of using = 'CA'
    I need to use = 'C*'

I have tried many combinations of text and I always get a syntax error or a "blank" return.

Thanks in advance for your help...

    Try this:

    =DMax("[Freight]", "Orders", "left([ShipRegion],1) = 'C'")

    Hope this helps,
