    Unhappy Unanswered: Shift a decimal

    Hi all,

I have a column of data that the decimal got shifted one to the right. How can I write a query to correct this?

Example: 12.34 should actually be 1.234

Update, or creating a new table is a possibility!

    Thanks,

    Ken

change the DecimalPlaces Property according to the number of places you want digits to appear right of the decimal places.

You can find examples by typing DecimalPlaces Property in the Access Help menu.

Why don't you try multiplying everything by .1?

Update myTable Set myField = myField * .1

I found an answer here is what I did:

    Code:
    update dw_orderdetail
    set price = price / 10
This moves the decimal one to the left, if you multiply it will move it one to the right.

    Thanks for the replies!
