Question Unanswered: Choice of database backend

    Hi

Problem: Create a database application that has to be scalable from:
1 user on one computer with no IT staff,
to around 50 users connecting over a WAN.

    any ideas

My first thought was 2 slightly different versions both throught ODBC
1 that connects to an access db and one that connects to a postgresql db, all i would need to change is someof the SQL right?

or if I'm on completly the wrong track... please advise...

    thanks in advance

    Jamie

Or you could try MySQL. Small memory footprint (useful for a standalone installation), stable and fast... Can easily support 50 concurrent users. Good ODBC support and very cheap.
