    Unanswered: Unload Data in COBOL Format

    Does anyone knows about a tool to download Oracle data (SQL queries) to files with COBOL recird definition format (including COMP-3 packed-decimal formats)?

    I reply:
    If you use CoSORT's new FAst extraCT (FACT) unload to a flat file, you can simultaneoulsly create the metadata for that file in CoSORT sort control language (sortcl) - transform program. And then in a sortcl transform script, you can declare the output fields in various different data type formats, like MF_COMP3. Please see:

    where it describes the sortcl program and shows job specification file examples, including scripts where data types get changed from input to output. Let me know what you think,
