Unanswered: problem while inserting apostrope in DB2 column with varchar data type

    hello sir,
    can anybody help me
i am not able to update or insert some special characters like apostrope (eg:inser or update with name D'SOUZA) while dealing with column of type varchar .so is there any way to do it
i have also tried giving backslash(\) so as to recognise apostrope but it still doesn't work
    eg: update vldt_usr set name="D\'SOUZA' where id=1
    but no use
    please help me

    I tried it like this:
    "update tab set col1 = 'D''SOUZA' where id = 1"
so there is pair of single quotation marks (') between the word and it worked right.
