    Unanswered: Db2 Restore Problem

    Hi ,
Iam facing the following problem when i try to restore database from an Image file.
    I did the following steps.

    1. db2 force applications all
    2. db2 restore database DBNAME from C:\ redirect without rolling forward

After executing this command, i have got the following message.
SQL2539W Warning! Restoring to an existing database that is the same as the backup image database
. The database files will be deleted.
Do you want to continue ? (y/n) y
SQL1277N Restore has detected that one or more table space containers are
inaccessible, or has set their state to 'storage must be defined'.
DB20000I The RESTORE DATABASE command completed successfully.

What is this error? SQL1277N. It says table space is inaccessible. How to solve this problem.

    3. The third step which i've given is creating tablespaces. Restore.cmd holds the creation of table spaces.
    By executing restore.cmd

    4. db2 restore database DBNAME continue
After executing this command i've received the same error.
SQL1277N Restore has detected that one or more table space containers are
inaccessible, or has set their state to 'storage must be defined'.
DB20000I The RESTORE DATABASE command completed successfully.

    5. When i tried to connect to the same database, iam getting this error.
SQL1350N The application is not in the correct state to process this request. Reason code="3".

Can anybody tell me what is the problem and how to resolve it.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi babitha

You are not getting the error message after you did a restore.
It is a informational message when you are doing a REDIRECTED RESTORE. This means you are trying to have containers different from the backup you are trying to restore.
