    Question Unanswered: SQL3089N Error

    I was recently moving a schema from Db2 on Nt to Db2 UDB AIX using the db2move utility. While using the db2move import option I received this error on a few tables;

    SQL3089N A non-D record was found where a D record was expected.

    The documentation on this error isn't very helpful. From what I can tell, it sounds like a problem with the IXF file being read. Possibly a missing column of data or the like.

    Does anyone have an explanation for this? Thank you.

    Re: SQL3089N Error

    When transferring file from NT to AIX , the ixf files have to be transferred in binary format(rather than ASC format)

    sathyaram_s,

    I thought I had done that but I'll double check.

    Thanks for your response.

    Sathyaram,

    Thank you, that was the problem. After ensuring the ftp was in binary mode, the db2move import was successful.
